New Drummer, New Label, New York

Long time no talk! Sorry for the lack of communication but we’ve all been really busy with Antebellum Southern Slave History, English Composition, Screen-printing, Dish-washing, and helping conduct the Census. Now that we have some time to kill, I’d like to announce two big additions to Camp Caleb Lionheart.

We have a new drummer named Steve! After months of trying out different people, peeping in Music Store windows, and trying to expropriate other bands’ drummers, we’ve finally found a good match for what we are trying to do musically. Steve, or “Steve-o” as he prefers to be known, is fast, energetic, and passionate, and quite frankly, he gets me amped every time I look back behind the drums during our set. I knew he was a good addition when we played with Transit last week and several members of the band upon being asked if they met Steve-o responded, “Oh, your drummer? Yeah… he got me BLAZED!” We’re all really excited to write more songs and tour with him in August.

Also… we signed to Barrett Records! Not to keep repeating myself but we’re all fucking pumped on it, here’s what they posted on their website: “We are pleased to announce that we will be working with Caleb Lionheart to release a new 4 song CD EP titled ‘Climbing Up a Moutain, Just For The View.’ More info coming soon!!” I’ve been following this label (literally keeping a close eye on, not some trite twitter colloquialism) since they released Transit’s “This Will Not Define Us” a few years back. When Sakes Alive!!’s “Act I” 7 inch came out on the label a few months later I knew they’d be a company I’d be very into working with in the future. The opportunity arose and we couldn’t be more appreciative of Justin and his brother for having us on the roster. We will hopefully have copies of the record with us on Midwest tour with Crucial Dudes, and the Marine Electric in August. Stay stoked everyone, you know we are!
